Now opening tabs wirelessly

Your tab
follows you.

Start a tab at the first bar. Walk next door for the next round, then the one after that. WireTab keeps it open the whole block, all night. No card left behind, no rushing back to close out. Pay it all from your phone, whenever you're actually done.

The problem with closing out

Nobody wants
to close a tab.

On a busy night, closing out means flagging down your server and standing in line for the machine while three other people wait behind you. And if you just want to check out the next place and come back later, most bars still make you pay in full before you can walk out the door.

A card behind the counter

  • Your card sits in a drawer while you're out with friends
  • Busy night means standing in line just to pay and leave
  • Planning to come back? Most places still close you out first
  • One tab, one place. Moving on means starting over

A tab that moves with you

  • Your card never leaves your pocket
  • Walk out whenever, no line, no waiting on the machine
  • Coming back later? The tab's still open, right where you left it
  • Same tab, next stop. WireTab travels with the group
The route

How a day runs

Four stops. One tab. Nothing to remember except where you're headed next.

01Start

Open a tab wirelessly

No card handed over. Staff start your tab right at the register. You're in, order placed, in seconds.

02Roam

Move on without a second thought

Meet up with friends at the next spot. Your tab isn't tied to a card sitting at the first counter. It's tied to you.

03Track

Watch it run, if you want to

Check what you're into, from wherever you are. No surprises when the day's over.

04Close

Pay when you're actually done

Close out from your phone, whenever things wrap up, not when it's convenient for the venue.

Frequently asked
questions

The questions we hear most, from people opening a tab and from venues thinking about running one.

What is WireTab, and who is it for?

WireTab is a wireless tab that follows you from door to door on the same block. Bar to restaurant to the next bar, all one tab, no card handed over at any of them. It's built for anyone bar hopping or grabbing a bite with friends, and for the bars and restaurants that want a faster, lighter running tab on a busy night.

What happens if I don't close out my tab?

Once payments are live, a tab that's never closed out will automatically close one hour after the venue's business hours end that night. A standard gratuity is added automatically if one hasn't already been included, the same way a tab left open at closing time is normally handled today.

How does WireTab handle security and payment compliance?

Your card details are never stored on WireTab's servers. Payments are handled directly by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor, the highest level of certification in the industry. Every connection between your phone, the venue, and WireTab is encrypted in transit, and business accounts are protected the same way modern banking and fintech apps protect theirs.

Can I split a tab with a group?

Splitting a group tab is coming soon. For now, one person opens the tab and the group builds on it together at each stop.

Do I need to download an app?

No download needed to open or pay a tab as a customer, it works right from your phone's browser. Venues run WireTab's register from any device behind the bar.

What if something goes wrong with a tab?

Every tab is tied to a specific account and venue, so there's always a clear record of who opened it, what was added, and when. If something looks off, reach out through Get Early Access and we'll help sort it out directly.
